If you seek to be reunited with your children or your wife’s children of different marriages from a non-EU country, it is required that the children are suited for integration and that something has drastically changed in their home country.

Remember! Does an application not contain the necessary information or documents beside the application itself, the application will be rejected. Your application will not even be processed.

Minors, children under the age of 15, can achieve family reunification with their parents, if the parents live in Denmark and certain conditions are fulfilled.

If the child is born in Denmark by foreign parents where at least one of the parents have residence permit, no demands will be requested as the child is born in Denmark.

Special rules regarding children within EU, who are in Denmark in accordance with EU legislation and the free movement principle, are effective.

There are different categories in which the children can be subdivided into:

  • Children age 0-6
  • Children age 6-12
  • Children age 12-15
  • Children age 15-18

The older the child is, the harder it is to successfully complete a family reunification.
